Marble

  1. Preventative Care

    1. Use hot pads for any heated dish or pan.
    2. Do not place hot hair tools directly on the surface either. Use a silicone mat designed to protect surfaces from direct heat.
    3. Do not place hot materials on the seams.
    4. Use cutting boards. Do not cut directly on the surface.
    5. Use coasters under glasses, especially those containing alcohol or citrus juices.
    6. Professionally reseal the stone as needed with an appropriate sealer.
  2. Routine Care

    1. Clean up spills immediately, including water, to avoid staining or acid burns from citrus juices or acidic liquids. Even water can stain marble if left sitting for too long.
    2. Acidic food can etch the surface.
    3. Clean the countertop daily using a soft cloth and a neutral, non-abrasive cleanser. Mild dish soap and water work best. Household cleaners can leave a film and should be avoided.
    4. Avoid lemon, vinegar solutions or other acids as these can cause etching in the marble surface.
